inform: implies the imparting of knowledge especially of facts or occurrences necessary for an understanding of a matter or as a basis for action: ~ed us of the crisis.   （impart告知传授=tell，如the ability to impart knowledge and command respect is the essential qualification for teachers具备传授知识并赢得尊敬的能力是对教师的基本要求）


acquaint: lays stress on introducing to or familiarizing with: ~ed myself with the basics of the game.  (被介绍introduce熟悉familiarize的人称为acquaintance熟人: 相识的人泛泛之交熟人(与某人)认识略有交情(对某事物的)了解， 如the proprietor was an old acquaintance of his业主是他的一位旧相识）


apprise: implies the communicating of something of special interests or importance to the recipient: ~ me of any rallies in the stock market.    （communicate的意思是to exchange information交流通信沟通等，如a leader must be a good communicator领导必须善于交流）


notify: implies the formal communication of something requiring attention or demanding action: ~ied them that their mortgage payment was due.


inform告知: 表示让人知道某事实发生，以使人理解或采取行动，acquaint使熟悉: 强调介绍和熟悉，apprise告知:  对其有特殊利益重要性(interest还表示兴趣，但apprise主要用于利益)，notify通知报告: 指正式告知必须注意或采取行动的事情


记忆方法: 1）首字母IAAN想成All IN All总的来说<==应该告知

         2）告知的意思是让人知道mean to make one aware of something.    （aware知道，强调观察推理时警觉小心implies vigilance in observing and alertness in inferring from what is observed，如aware of a great number of police officers out and about知道外边遍布警察. 2017-08-01 意识aware-awake组中，只有aware强调警惕小心，因此用到aware的情况都比较危险艰困或重要，如上例，如smokers are well aware of the dangers to their own health吸烟者都知道吸烟对健康的危害，如they are politically very aware他们政治上非常警觉，如young people are very environmentally aware年轻人的环保意识很强。作为对比，sensible一般针对感觉或无形的东西，如sensible of his grief感觉到他心里的悲伤，conscious表示知觉意识，表示能感觉到视觉听觉触觉等，如conscious that my heart was pounding感觉心在怦怦跳，参见20170801）
